The first half of week three of the 2020 Indian Premier League has lived up to the hype. We’re hoping that will continue with the next slate of games.
The defending champion Mumbai Indians have roared into life by notching two victories.
They’ve moved to the top of the standings and are looking imperious once again.
Elsewhere, Virat Kohli sparked himself into form with a half-century to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore on a victory charge against the Rajasthan Royals.
We’re now going to look ahead to the Indians’ clash against the Royals and the rest of the action in the remainder of week three. Check out our tips below.

There was slight pressure on the Indians after losing two of their opening three games. However, their response has been emphatic. Rohit Sharma led the way with a half-century to help defeat Kings XI Punjab, while Quinton de Kock was on form to overcome Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Out of nowhere the reigning champions have their old steel back. Their bowling line-up is beginning to click as Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah were on point in their victories. The Royals must beware of the threat, although they are the one side that the Indians have struggled against.
Rajasthan have won their last four meetings against Mumbai and will take confidence from their good record. Their form has been up and down in the tournament thus far – losing at the hands of Kohli and company last time out.
The Royals have been boosted by the return of Ben Stokes to their camp, although this game will come too soon for the all-rounder. Jos Buttler has been underwhelming – he needs to start firing for his team at the top of the order.
Mumbai are rounding into form and due to their resurgence, they’re our cricket tip of the week. Back them for the win.

The Super Kings needed a victory to stem the tide and they delivered. Faf du Plessis led the charge with an unbeaten 87 to guide his team to a 10-wicket triumph over Punjab.
Chennai had lost three of their opening four games heading into the contest. The win eases the pressure somewhat, but they need to continue that form against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Du Plessis’ batting has been of the highest quality, only Lokesh Rahul has more runs that the South African in the tournament. Support must be forthcoming from the rest of the line-up, including the bowlers who are yet to hit peak form.
Kolkata are still in decent shape in the Indian Premier League standings despite their defeat to Delhi Capitals last time out. Shreyas Iyer took control of the game and the Knight Riders were powerless to stop him.
The bowling of Andre Russell has been a positive, but their batting outside of Shubman Gill has been disappointing. There must be more to come from them as a complete unit.
It will be a close one between these two sides and the best betting sites cannot separate them. Our tip is for the Super Kings to close out a win.

It’s a make-or-break contest for Kings XI after losing four out of their opening five matches. They have not played terribly but they lack a clinical edge. Rahul has been excellent at the top of the order as has Mayank Agarwal.
Both are in the top five for runs scored in the tournament, with the skipper leading the way. There has been very little support around them, while Mohammad Shami has been the only bowler to shine. It’s time for the rest of the team to step up against Sunrisers.
Hyderabad played well to defeat the Super Kings on Friday but took a step back against on Mumbai on Sunday. David Warner notched his first half-century of the competition in a losing effort. There’s a lot of talent in the ranks with Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson available.
If one of those players fires, the Sunrisers will be in a good spot. Rashid Khan has also been impressive with the ball and he could be the game winner in this one.

Iyer put on a show for the Delhi Capitals in their dominant win over the Knight Riders. He scored 88 from only 38 deliveries to propel his team to a massive total of 228 from their 20 overs. The Capitals are positioning themselves for a charge towards the post-season.
They’ve won their matches in a variety of ways and are perhaps the most exciting team in the tournament after three weeks. Kagiso Rabada has been excellent with the ball, taking eight wickets at an average of 15.75. Anrich Nortje, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and Marcus Stoinis provide a very balanced line-up.
We’ve yet to see the best of the Royals in the competition. They could well have Stokes in the ranks, and he will be fired up on his return. Rasjasthan have had good individual performances, but we’re still waiting to for a complete outing from them.
Delhi are the team to watch for this year’s IPL crown and we’re backing them to triumph in this one.
