Royal Challengers Bangalore v Rajasthan Royals

Both sides have set the tone in the competition, producing impressive performances to enjoy fast starts at the top of the table. The Capitals were a fancied side before the start of the IPL and have backed up their reputation with a Super Over win over Punjab and a comfortable triumph over the Chennai Super Kings.

Jonny Bairstow’s half-century and Rashid Khan’s 3/14 bested them against Sunrisers Hyderabad last time out. Marcus Stoinis has been in good touch for the Capitals, while their bowling attack led by South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada is potent. Shubman Gill has been in outstanding form for the Knight Riders.

He backed up a match-winning knock of 70 with a score of 47 against the Royals. Gill has laid the foundations for his team, allowing Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan freedom to play their shots. Pat Cummins has started to find his range, while there will be more to come from Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav. This promises to be a close encounter but take the Knight Riders to edge it on the account of experience.

Kings XI Punjab v Chennai Super Kings

Punjab have played extremely well in the competition and will feel they should have more to show from their matches to date. They’ve lacked a little bit of composure under pressure – evident in their Super Over defeat to Delhi and conceding the highest-run chase to Rajasthan. Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have been sensational at the top of the order. Mohammed Shami has been equally impressive with the ball. The rest of the line-up needs to improve to support the trio.

The Super Kings have not been at their best in the tournament thus far. MS Dhoni’s men defeated the Indians in the opener but have lacked a complete display with both bat and ball. There were questions about the age of the team before the IPL began and it appears those predictions are not wide of the mark, outside of Faf du Plessis’ form with the bat. Punjab have been playing the better cricket thus far – they’re our top cricket tip of the week to emerge with the victory.

Delhi Capitals v Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have fared well in their matches against the Capitals in the history of the IPL. Kohli’s men hold 14-8 advantage, although Delhi did win the two meetings last season. Bangalore had held a four-match winning run over Delhi heading into 2019. Iyer played two brilliant knocks in both matches to guide his team to victory.

All batsmen will attempt to measure up to Kohli, especially Iyer who will be keen to get another one over on his opposite number. Both sides have been in good form in IPL thus far in the tournament and it may come down to fine margins again.
